Job Description:
The technician should be able to fabricate, assemble, install, repair sheet metal and composite equipment on Commercial and General Aviation aircraft as well as perform direct maintenance on these aircraft through minor to major repairs and modifications including working on components and/or related parts. He will also be responsible to perform work outlined on applicable work forms in accordance with company policies and procedures, manufacturer's manuals and EASA / FAA requirements.
Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Determine project requirements including scope, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, according to blueprints, and written and verbal instructions.
- Lay out of sheet metal parts using blueprints, drawings, written or verbal instructions.
- Alter an existing part using blueprints, drawings, written or verbal instructions.
- Rivet and sheet metal component removal.
- Bend and form a radius on fabricated sheet metal parts.
- Drill various metals.
- Install blind rivets and fasteners.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of aircraft structure repair manuals.
- Skilled in identifying types of corrosions.
- Skilled in corrosion removal procedures.
- Skilled in the application and removal of wash etch and alodine material.
- Ability to identify rivets, bolts, screws, and nuts and washers.
Required:
- Basic education diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years related working experience (sheet metal)
- Good communication skills in English (Verbal & Written)

The Apella team received special recognition today by its customer, DynCorp International for outstanding support of the Multi Sensor Aerial Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (MAISR) Operations and Sustainment program of the US Army achieved by providing Aircraft-On-the-Ground (AoG) emergency maintenance activities in April 2016. The maintenance was performed at the Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI) facilities at Schimatari Voiotias by Apella and HAI personnel.

Apella Successfully Delivers to Aeroservices AS 332 Super Puma Helicopter of the Hellenic Firefighting Brigade
Apella successfully completed on 25 April 2016 the external painting of one of the Hellenic Firefighting Brigade’s AS332L1 Super Puma helicopters having a Registration Number SX-HFF. The helicopter was delivered to the prime contractor, Aeroservices SA, on schedule following formal acceptance procedures on 27 April 2016.
